দাশনগর, একজন ব্যবসায়ীর নামে একটা গোটা জনপদ পরিচিত হয়ে উঠেছিল। হাওড়া জেলার এই জনপদ আসলে একজন নির্ধনের স্বপ্নপুরণের ইতিকথা, বাঙালির স্বপ্নদেখার মর্মগাথা। বিজ্ঞানী আচার্য প্রফুল্লচন্দ্র রায়ের আদর্শ অনুসরণ করে খইমুড়ি বেচা আলামোহন দাশ দাশনগরে গড়ে তুলেছিলেন এক বিশাল কারখানা। বাঙালির কর্মোদ্যোগের তিনি সাক্ষী। সেই বেড়ে ওঠা জীবনের কথা একেবারে ব্রতকাহিনীর মতো রচনা করে গেছেন স্বয়ং আলামোহন। এই আত্মজীবনী তাই তাঁর একার নয় , সমগ্র জাতির আশা ভরসার কথা।

Description

Dashnagar, a businessman, became known as a whole town. This town in Howrah district is actually the story of a poor man’s dream, the dream of a Bengali dream. Following the example of scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy, Khimuri Becha Alamohan Das built a large factory in Dashan. He is a witness to the Bengali program. Alamohan himself wrote the story of his life growing up just like Bratakahini. This autobiography, therefore, is about trusting the hope of the entire nation, not of his solitude.
